Stenholm ride 2012The 100: A Ride for Jim Stenholm. Usually, the ride would happen right around the anniversary of Jim's death, which is October 24, 2008, but the ride was a little earlier this year because of the Gran Fondo, which is a popular charity bike ride being held in Scottsdale this weekend.

This year's ride took place October 6, still running just short of 62 miles in honor of Jim's badge number, 6206. Nearly $10,000 was raised, the proceeds of which go to the 100 Club of Arizona and Off the Back: The Jim Stenholm Foundation.

There were approximately 325 riders and an excellent Phoenix Police Department motorcycle escort . This was the fourth year for the ride, and a total of nearly $35,000 has been raised, the vast majority of which has gone to the 100 Club to support family and children of fallen first responders. This ride would not be possible without the support of the City of Phoenix and the Phoenix Police Department and Rebecca Stenholm is extremely grateful.
