Business professionals preparing middle school students for successful careers
The Parks and Recreation Employment Program, or PREP, is designed to provide career and life skill training for economically disadvantaged students. As part of a six-week program, selected middle school students participate in a number of activities including attending career workshops and hearing from professionals in a variety of fields. The students also mentor elementary school students in after-school programs at various community centers and PAC sites throughout the West District.
The goals of PREP are to prepare students with basic life skills and provide an understanding of the working world. The program proves that with proper guidance children from all backgrounds can succeed and realize their full potential.
