expansion.
May 2009
- Vice Mayor Tom Simplot talks to representatives from the Ryan House,
a new facility being build St. Joseph's Medical Center for children
with long-term illnesses, then to the founder and artistic director
of Release the Fear, an organization committed to countering violence
through art. To close, Simplot speaks with the new governing board
president of the Phoenix Union High School District. City Clerk Mario
Paniagua talks about the proposed 25 Voting Centers that would replace
traditional polling places, making voting more convenient and flexible
(the process for early voting by mail would not change).
April 2009
- Vice Mayor Tom Simplot is On the Road at Arizona State University's
Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication in downtown
Phoenix. He discusses the new campus with Dean Christopher Callahan,
meet two local bloggers.
March 2009
- Vice Mayor Tom Simplot talks about several community events that
make a difference in District 4. Simplot discusses crime reduction
efforts in Maryvale including the upcoming Crime Summit on April 4
at the Adam Diaz Senior Center. He then gets a recap of the popular
Seventh Avenue Street Fair and highlights the activities at this year's
Phoenix Pride Festival at Steele Indian School Park on April 18-19.
To close the show, Vice Mayor Simplot learns all about the Phx: Fringe
Festival that takes place on weekends in downtown Phoenix from March
27 to April 5.
February 2009
- Vice Mayor Tom Simplot reviews the city's budget process with Deputy
City Manager Ed Zuercher. He discusses the recent increase in transit
fares and the city's efforts to eliminate graffiti from neighborhoods.
To close the show, Simplot talks with two representatives from local
nonprofits about the economic downturn and its impact to their services.
January 2009
- Vice Mayor Tom Simplot highlights exciting new developments in District
4, including the completion of the Isaac Neighborhood Learning Center
in April and the grand opening of the Jerry Colangelo Club in March.
He features the city's channel, Phoenix 11 and talks to the president
of the American Medical College of Homeopathy.

2008 - Councilman Tom Simplot discusses foreclosures and
their impact with the directors of the city’s Neighborhood Services
and Housing departments. He’ll highlight the importance of shopping
local and the newly renovated Memorial Hall. Simplot also features
Phoenix Sister Cities Youth Ambsador Program and Youth & Education’s
Outstanding Young Man and Young Woman Program.
September 2008
- Councilman Tom Simplot highlights the upcoming fundraiser for the
Phoenix Public Library, Dinner in the Stacks. He also discusses the
benefits of local theatre groups and what they offer to the community.
To close the show, he learns about events happening downtown and throughout
