November 2008
- Councilman Claude Mattox speaks with Fire Chief Bob Khan about fire
safety within the home and the importance of smoke alarms. He learns
about the city's Community Emergency Response Team training program
and to close the show, he highlights Grandma's Day.
October 2008
- Councilman Claude Mattox discusses homeland security with representatives
from the Phoenix Fire and Police departments and highlights his district's
newest fire station. With METRO light rail now testing cars in downtown
Phoenix, Mattox speaks with a representative from METRO Light Rail
to provide an overview pedestrian and vehicle safety tips. To close
the show, he discusses the city's sustainability efforts along with
its plentiful water supply.
September 2008
- Councilman Claude Mattox discusses a river-rafting trip with Mainstream
Expeditions that he recently took part in as part of a program organized
by River of Dreams, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. He'll feature a Guinness
World Record breaking event that he kicked off with Team Gray Whales.
Councilman Mattox also will speak with a representative from the Phoenix
Police Department about the Stop Random Gunfire Poster Contest for
students grades K-8.
June 2008
- Councilman Claude Mattox is On the Road to visit with Packages from
Home, an organization that sends care packages of food, personal care
and recreational items to deployed American troops.
May 2008
- Councilman Claude Mattox highlights the Seventh Annual Fiesta del
Agua and the Adopt-a-Fence program, which recently celebrated its
300th pool fence installation. Mattox also meets one of the youngest
swimmers to swim the treacherous 1.4 mile stretch of frigid water
between the infamous Alcatraz Island and the shores of San Francisco.
April 2008
- Councilman Claude Mattox will discuss the successful spring training
season, the grand opening of the new YMCA in Maryvale and how the
city is fighting back against graffiti.
March 2008
- Councilman Claude Mattox recently hosted several metal theft community
forums to educate residents and business owners about metal theft
and how to protect their property. For those who missed the forums,
this is another opportunity to learn about this topic. To close the
show, Mattox highlights the recent WorldFEST event.
February 2008
-Councilman Claude Mattox discusses Earth Hour,
a global event that focuses on each individual working together to
make a positive impact on climate changes. He'll also discuss the
recent rate increases for water and wastewater fees. Later in the
show, the Councilman will highlight the third annual WorldFEST, an
event where residents can experience world cultures and various family
activities.
