Feb. 23, 2009 - Mayor Gordon talks
with Karen Peters, Government Relations director, about efforts to
secure some direct funding from the federal economic stimulus package
so Phoenix can start already-approved construction projects and create
local jobs more quickly. KNOW99 highlights the dedication of the Murphy
School District/Phoenix Rotary 100 Education & Health Center, now
providing free health care and educational services to the Murphy
community. And the Mayor talks with Kimber Lanning, Local First AZ,
and Mark Patel, Phoenix Art Museum, about Phoenix Arts Month and The
Train Tracks, a unique opportunity for local musicians to record live
tracks on a light rail car.

Mercury Head Coach Corey Gaines. Gaines is continuing a relationship
forged when he participated in the Principal for a Day program last
fall. The Discover Phoenix segment showcases another hidden gem of
our city, the beautifully restored Memorial Hall in Steele Indian
School Park.
Dec. 3, 2008 - Mayor Gordon talks
to Rick Simonetta, CEO of METRO Light Rail, about the launch of our
new light rail system - now just days away. Then, KNOW99 takes us
to a Phoenix grade school where an Arizona Cardinals player makes
reading time extra special for the kids through SRP Milk & Cookies
Program. Finally, we see highlights of the Mayor's first tree-planting
event in a downtown neighborhood.
Nov. 17, 2008 - Mayor Gordon's
guests work for the only AIDS service organization of its kind in
the country, Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS: President/CEO Carol Poore
and Prevention Specialist Tyler TerMeer, who is living with HIV. Our
"In the Know" segment features corporate executives who have extended
their participation in the Principal for a Day program into long-term
relationships with Phoenix schools. In our "Discover Phoenix" segment,
a park ranger with the North Mountain Visitor Center leads us on a
hike in the beautiful Sonoran desert of the North Mountain Preserve.

Gordon's guests are Phoenix Police Commander Tim Hampton with the
Maryvale Precinct and Dwight Amery with Maryvale Revitalization Corporation.

and improving our neighborhoods when police and residents work together.

Wolf talks with Mayor Gordon about the city's green sustainability
program. KNOW99 visits the Phoenix Teaching Fellows, a group that
trains teachers to teach in high need schools that need help in math,
science and special education. PHX11 visits the Arizona Toy and Doll
Museum at Heritage Square.
