Employees in the Industrial Maintenance Mechanic positions are responsible for leading and performing journey-level installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment such as pumps, blowers, centrifuges, gearboxes, valves, and valve actuators at water or wastewater treatment plants, reclamation plants, groundwater wells, pumping stations, lift stations, and reservoirs. Work assignments are varied, and employees must be skilled in several mechanical trades including fabrication and millwright.
Employees work independently and as part of a team, sometimes leading the team. The successful candidate will be reliable, have a good attitude, and be a team player.
Industrial Maintenance Mechanics may also be required to:
- Move objects weighing 50 pounds.
- Work in confined spaces and at heights greater than 10 feet.
- Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the outdoor elements.
- Work irregular hours, shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings.
