The Water Distribution Division is comprised of Administration and Field Operations with over 187 employees. The division is responsible for 6,847 miles of water distribution main, over 55,000 fire hydrants, 160,000 valves and 450,000 service line connections within a 540 square mile service area. Utility Technician positions in this division perform semiskilled work in the operation and maintenance of the city's water distribution system ranging in size from 2-inch to 16-inch pipe, fire hydrants, and valves. - Providing high level support in a LAN, and WAN environment supporting operating systems, application packages, database management systems, utilities, and related software.
- Supporting the Process Control domain through Active Directory, Group Policies, Domain DNS, system security patching, and implementing backup/recovery strategies.
- Providing project leadership while working closely with consultants and vendors to coordinate and manage the infrastructure domain.
