Arizona Project WET curricula offer a wide range of student projects and activities that have been correlated to Arizona State Standards for Science, Language Arts, Social Studies and Math and are applicable to preparation for AIMS testing. The workshops are sponsored by the City of Phoenix and are conducted by University of Arizona Cooperative Extension. The workshops, educator's guides, and classroom materials are provide for free to both classroom teachers and non-formal educators working within the City of Phoenix water service area.
Arizona Project WET
Arizona Project WET focuses on the properties of water and how water moves through living and non-living systems. This educator's guide, with more than 80 activities for all grade levels, is easy to use, helps make learning fun, and offers a wide variety of opportunities to teach water education in the classroom. (8 hours of advanced training for teaching K-12th Grades.)
Discover a Watershed: The Colorado
Discover a Watershed: The Colorado opens students and teachers eyes to the many topics concerning water in Arizona--Why do we use Colorado River water? How do dams affect fish and plant life along the river? Why has the river stopped flowing into Mexico? The workshop and lessons in the educator's guide take you on a journey through the story of the watershed in which we live. (8 hours of advanced training for teaching 5th-12th Grades.)
Healthy Water, Healthy People
Healthy Water, Healthy People engages students in discovering concepts of good science, water quality's effect on human health, life in healthy systems, pollution prevention and water quality management and restoration. (8 hours of advanced training for teaching 4th-12th Grades.)
Arizona Conserve Water
Arizona Conserve Water focuses directly on water use and water resources in Arizona. The curriculum was developed by the Governor's Office, the Arizona Department of Water Resources, a team of water experts from across Arizona, and was sponsored by the Bureau of Reclamation. (8 hours of advanced training for teaching K-12th Grade.)
