In December 2007, City Council approved the Environmentally Preferable Purchasing (EPP) Program to focus on incorporating green products and services into city contracts. One of over 80 efforts in the city's Phoenix: Living Like It Matters! Sustainability program, EPP is based on product evaluations and green product initiatives championed by various city departments.
Early results show that the city's commitment to EPP is proving successful both environmentally and financially. Demonstrated cost savings and reduced impacts on the environment are clear. For city of Phoenix successes, please see the list below:
