Emergency Assistance

Social Services

Social services are available at family and senior services centers to provide assistance in the areas of:

  • Case management (employment services, budgeting, social and life-skills development counseling)
  • Eviction prevention / move-in assistance
  • Emergency utility and rental assistance
  • Nutritional resources
  • Transportation
  • Information on senior programs and resources, including senior discount programs
  • Housing repair assistance (including minor home appliance replacement/repair).


Beginning at 8 a.m. each Monday, call your nearest family service center to schedule an appointment.


Applicants must:

  • Be a Phoenix resident
  • Provide proof of residency and citizenship
  • Other program eligibility criteria vary. Assistance may be restricted to once per 12-month period.


  • Case Management Services - Caseworkers assist families and adult individuals resolve problems and assist them in achieving self-sufficiency.
  • Emergency Financial Assistance Services - Emergency assistance includes rental and utility assistance in crisis situations. Other emergency services are provided as center resources allow.

Family Service Centers

Family Services Centers are operated Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Phone calls are accepted starting at 8 a.m. daily. 

Households with a member age 60 or over may contact the Senior Services Intake line at 602-262-6631 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
