Phoenix Public Library connects today's community to a world of possibilities through a system of 16 branches and the Burton Barr Central Library. Days of service and hours vary by location .

With a collection of nearly 2 million items, Phoenix Public Library offers books, DVDs, CDs and a wide variety of digital resources. To search for a specific item or simply browse the collection, visit the Library's website.

A Phoenix Public Library card is available for FREE to Maricopa County residents. Pre-register for a card by completing an online form, then stop by any Library location to pick up your card; or visit any of our 17 locations and fill out a library card application. Proof of identification is required. To pre-register or view the list of acceptable identification, visit the Library's website.

Loan periods vary by material type. Materials may be renewed if not requested by another customer. Renewals may be done in person, online or by calling 602-534-6666.

Fees for overdue materials can be paid at any Library location or online. Phoenix Public Library uses a collection agency to recover overdue materials when a customer's account balance exceeds $75.

The Library offers free Internet access with a valid Phoenix Public Library card at all locations. Free WiFi is also available. A variety of personal computer workstations are available to meet customers' needs. The Library also offers free computer classes at locations around the Valley.
