The city’s youth and education channel, know99, is airing a new program that answers the age-old question, “How will I pay for college?”
For many students, meeting the cost of higher education seems daunting or even impossible. The know99 program breaks down the sources of financial aid, including scholarships, grants, work-study jobs, and federal and private student loans.
The program features financial aid experts and actual college students who provide tips and strategies for maximizing award packages and budgeting for college life. Students who tune in will learn the ins-and-outs of applying for financial aid through the FAFSA and the CSS Profile and how to compare financial aid packages.
The program will air at 10 a.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 10, on Cox Cable Channel 99.
After watching the program, viewers may want to visit College Depot, located on the second floor of Burton Barr Central Library at 1221 N. Central Ave.
College Depot is hosting free workshops in January that explore financial aid, scholarships and other topics related to college expenses. Space is limited.
