Councilman Daniel T. Valenzuela and the Phoenix Fire Department invite residents to a free child car safety seat event from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 12, at Royal Palm Middle School, 8520 N. 19th Ave. During the event, Phoenix fire technicians will provide free safety checks of child car and booster seats.
“I continue to host these events because child car safety seats are the law and, I believe, one of the most important preventative measures parents can take to protect our children from harm,” said Councilman Valenzuela.
Recently, the Arizona House of Representatives passed a bill extending the car/booster seat requirement to passengers in a motor vehicle between the ages of five and eight, who are no more than four feet nine inches tall.
Residents are encouraged to visit phoenix.gov/district5 and subscribe to Councilman Valenzuela’s neighborhood newsletter to stay informed of upcoming events and important city issues.
