Phoenix City Councilman Daniel T. Valenzuela will be a featured speaker during The American Israel Public Affairs Committee Policy Conference March 3 through 5, in Washington D.C.

“I am humbled to have been asked to speak during this year’s conference, alongside members of congress and ambassadors from around the world,” said Councilman Valenzuela. “I look forward to sharing my experiences from a recent visit to Israel and continuing my education on the importance of the U.S. - Israeli alliance.”

Councilman Valenzuela recently visited Israel on his own time, sponsored by the American Israel Education Foundation, and had the opportunity to explore how the State addresses social issues, education, healthcare, economic development and immigration.  Since returning, he has begun working with city staff on new initiatives, including one impacting homeless teens.

The AIPAC conference is attended by more than 12,000 community members and students from across the country, offering more than a hundred information sessions on a variety of topics.

Councilman Valenzuela is a featured speaker, along with U.S. Congressman Juan Vargas, for a panel discussion titled “Growing Alliance: Israel and the Latino Community.”  The discussion takes place from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday, March 3.
