Councilman Tom Simplot will participate in a ribbon cutting for the newest Zia Records location at 6 p.m. Tuesday, March 5, at 1850 W. Camelback Road.

“I am pleased that Zia Records believes as we do, that this stretch of Camelback Road is the place to be,” said Councilman Simplot. “This local, independent business will attract its fans to the area, and encourage other businesses to get on board and be a part of the revitalization of the area.”

On June 1, 2012, Councilman Simplot hosted a “Camelback Road Revitalization Tour” to encourage business owners and developers to take another look at the light rail corridor along Camelback Road, west of Central Avenue, and the potential that awaits.

Zia Records is a local, independent record store chain that has grown from one location in 1980 to stores across the Valley, in Tucson and Las Vegas.  For more information, visit ziarecords.com.
