Councilman Daniel Valenzuela empowers residents to be a part of the solution for stronger neighborhoods during a special District 5 Leadership Academy event from 9:30 a.m. to noon this Saturday, June 15, at Phoenix City Hall, 200 Washington St., in the atrium.

“This comprehensive leadership academy empowers residents of all ages with the knowledge, skills and tools to become agents for positive change in their neighborhoods and beyond,” said Councilman Valenzuela. “This special event will offer the final piece of the training, connecting graduates of the program with programs, resources and staff at City Hall.”

An intergenerational group of 28 graduates of the Leadership Academy are expected to participate in the Saturday event, along with front-line staff from the Police, Neighborhood Services, Parks and Planning and Development departments, among others.

The leadership academy was created in conjunction with The Phoenix Revitalization Corporation.
