Explore the Arts at Saguaro Library in October

Library Bird ImageSaguaro Library, located at 2808 N. 46th St., will kick off a six-part series of programs to explore the arts this October.  The first two programs are:  

  • So You Want to be an Artist?
    2 – 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17
    Local artist Velma Barder will introduce various art forms and drawing techniques.  Learn how to create a self-portrait with a twist.

  • Amazing Arizona Art
    2 – 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21
    Take a virtual journey with Phoenix Art Museum docent Sherry Koopot as she explores the people, places and unique heritages that have fascinated artists and continue to fascinate us today.


The series continues in 2014 with programs scheduled for Jan. 16, Feb. 20, March 20 and April 17.  It is sponsored by the Friends of the Phoenix Public Library, Saguaro Chapter.
