Internet Threat Level
The Internet Storm Center's INFOCon shown below displays the current condition of the Internet's infrastructure. In other words, it indicates whether there's a lot of malicious traffic and the possibility of disrupted connectivity.
INFOCon Definition
| Green | Everything is normal. No significant new threat known. |
| Blue / Test | This status is used for testing only. Everything is normal. No significant new threat known. |
| Yellow | We are currently tracking a significant new threat. The impact is either unknown or expected to be minor to the infrastructure. However, local impact could be significant. Users are advised to take immediate specific action to contain the impact. Example: 'MSBlaster' worm outbreak. |
| Orange | A major disruption in connectivity is imminent or in progress. Examples: Code Red on its return, and SQL Slammer worm during its first half day |
| Red | Loss of connectivity across a large part of the Internet. |
The Internet Storm Center also hosts a Handler's Diary -- a daily blog explaining current Internet threats and exploits.
Internet Traffic Report
The Internet Traffic Report shows how fast data is travelling over the Internet. Higher numbers means faster response times. For North America, 74 is about average.
