Phoenix Arts and Culture Invests Over $1.7 Million

Phoenix Arts and Culture is pleased to announce the Community Arts Grants Program recipients for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.

One hundred and twenty-six (126) applications were received, and 115 were determined eligible for review by panels comprising laypersons, artists, arts professionals, and educators to ensure a thorough and unbiased review.

Through our agency’s equity strategy, we are constantly expanding our reach to all areas of the city and targeting applicants from all disciplines, budget sizes, underrepresented populations, and City Council districts. Every year, there is significant growth in grant workshops and meeting participants, applicants, and applicants awarded. This year, there was a nine percent increase in eligible applications from FY24 to FY25.

The Community Arts Grants Program has a total budget of $1,725,346, comprised of funds from the city’s general fund, percent-for-art, and support from the Phoenix Convention Center. General Support and Project Support funding allocations totaling $1,404,696 are requested for 112 grants to 112 applicants. Of the remaining funds, $75,000 will be used towards discretionary grants and programs, $50,000 for a cultural festival cohort pilot, and $195,650 for the Phoenix Stages Program that offers support to Community Arts Grantees that rent space at the Herberger Theater Center, the Orpheum Theatre, and Symphony Hall. These funds are awarded through an additional application process and reviewed by the Phoenix Convention Center.
