A fourth generation Arizonan, Coe is known for narrative paintings linking the natural and built worlds.  She worked closely with the PHX Sky Train design and construction team of HOK Architects, Gannett Fleming engineers, and the Hensel Phelps Construction Company to integrate the design into the station. The floor, which measures 450' x 36', was produced by 25 skilled workers from Advance Terrazzo, in Phoenix.​
