Desired qualifications
As a previous host of a student worker, the thing I am most excited about is having the help of someone who can come into our work space and provide a fresh perspective and new ideas to our organization. Working with students or recently graduated students is a rewarding opportunity on both sides. Not only does our organization benefit from having additional help with our programs and operations, the student is compensated fairly through this grant and gains hands-on experience in the arts and nonprofit sector. Our motivation for hosting is to continue the amazing work our previous student worker implemented. They were able to take so many projects on, contribute to them, take ownership of them, and walk away with completed projects on their resume. Supervising a student worker fits into my professional growth by allowing me to continue to learn from others, solicit feedback on my management style, and discover new ways to collaborate and support others in their professional goals. Student workers serve our organization by being part of our team. Working with different staff to help us with different projects and take on projects that we previously may have not had the time or bandwidth to complete. Their contributions will benefit the communities we serve by being a key point of contact for our artists, community organizations, volunteers, and general public.
I have served my community through some of Arizona's amazing cultural institutions including Phoenix Art Museum, Phoenix Center for the Arts, S'edav Va'aki Museum, Arizona State Capitol Museum, and now, Cultural Coalition. B.A. in anthropology from Arizona State University, M.A. in museum studies from University of Newcastle Upon Tyne.
