About this Student Worker Position
S’edav Va’aki Museum seeks a Special Projects Assistant who will work directly with the Museum Administrator to support three areas of Museum work. The Annual Indian Market, museum programming, and communications. the Assistant will learn best practices for public-facing aspects of museum work as well as gain knowledge of archaeology in the Salt River Valley and the Native American communities connected to the ancestral site of S'edav Va’aki. Hours will be flexible but include some weekends and evenings. Some remote work opportunities may be available – however attendance at events will be mandatory.
We seek an organized individual interested in learning about and working with Native American artists and community members. Also willing to work closely with our diverse staff.
The Phoenix ArtCorps is a student employment program from the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture that seeks to provide students with the comprehensive skills, mentorship, and experience they need to launch their arts and culture careers. Over the course of the 2024-2025 academic year, each student works 400 hours for $17/hr (around 15 to 20 hours a week), with additional stipends and professional development opportunities. To apply, students must be current or recently graduated undergraduate students at a community college, university, or other institution of higher education based in Phoenix (or live in Phoenix themselves). Applicants must be at least 18 years old. There are no other enrollment requirements. Students do not need to be majoring in the arts or similar fields to apply.
