***New Permit System Process, Please Read ***
Introducing SHAPE PHX - Phoenix's new permitting system!
Fire Prevention has started a transition to a new time saving and customer friendly permitting system called SHAPE PHX effective June 6, 2022. It provides an enhanced user experience with easier navigation and more self-service options for our customers. SHAPE PHX manages application intake, inspection orders, workflow, status and reports. This new secure system will significantly benefit our customers through improved customer service, added transparency, and increased efficiency of services that the Phoenix Fire Department provides to our community.
The best part of SHAPE PHX for our customers is the "SHAPE PHX Customer Portal." The Portal is available 24/7, and allow customers that register to do the following from any location; submit applications, check plan review status, request meetings with staff, upload documents, request inspections and pay fees online.
This first phase includes the following permits:
- Hospitals
- Nursing Care Facilities
- Day Care and Child Care Facilities
- Group Homes
- Assisted Living Facilities
- Developmentally Disabled Group Homes
- Educational Facilities (K-12)
- Malls
- Behavioral Health Facilities
- Medical Facilities
- Pyro and Blasting Certificate of Fitness Cards
If your application request is for one or more of the above permits, you will now need to complete the application process online via the SHAPE PHX portal link below. Applications for these permits will no longer be accepted via email for processing. If your application is for another type of fire permit or plan review, it will continue to be processed as before until the second release in 2023.
