Project Update Notice - Spring 2024
About the Project

The Phoenix Street Transportation Department is proposing an update to the bike lanes on Thomas Road from 48th Street to 56th Street. The proposal calls for bike lanes on each side of the road with two driving lanes in each direction and a center turn lane. This project would create a balanced roadway with minimal traffic impacts.

City of Scottsdale Plan

The updates that the City of Phoenix is proposing would match a future striping pattern east of 56th Street, where the City of Scottsdale is planning to balance the traffic lanes and add bike lanes.

Community Engagement

A live virtual public meeting was held on September 8, 2022. A video recording of the meeting is available above and also viewable on YouTube. A community survey was open from September 8 through September 25, 2022. Thank you to the community members who participated in the public meeting and provided input via the survey.
