Cortez Arc consists of five sculptural slabs of New Mexico Apache Golden Vein marble inlaid with mirrored glass block.  The glass inlays serve to catch and reflect the sun as it arcs across the sky.  The artwork was dedicated to the Spirit of the United States Constitution during the celebration of its Bicentennial year.​
