coLAB's project grew from a community request to improve the appearance of the lift station as part of planned security and equipment upgrades at the site. The decorative steel cornice features waterjet-cut patterns were inspired by the similarities between and flowing shapes of desert and marine flora. LED backlighting silhouettes the patterns at night. Lift stations are an essential part of the City's wastewater system. ​​
