Inger Erickson was named Deputy City Manager in July 2020. Prior to that, she served as director of the city’s Parks and Recreation Department since December 2015.
Her resume is highlighted by partnerships developed with non-profits, academic institutions and professional sports teams that improved city programs and facilities for the community, while saving taxpayer funds.
Erickson’s 30-plus year career with the City of Phoenix started in 1986 as a lifeguard at Coronado Pool. In the years that followed, she held a variety of positions in the Parks and Recreation Department, including aquatics supervisor, maintenance supervisor, and deputy and assistant director.
She holds a bachelor of science degree in physical education from Grand Canyon University and a master of arts in organizational management from the University of Phoenix.
