Each year, brush fires consume hundreds of homes in the Brush/Urban Interface. Studies show that as many as 80 percent of those homes could have been saved if their owners had followed a few simple fire-safe practices. The Phoenix Fire Department strongly encourages residents to create a defensible space around your property and establish a “Ready, Set, Go” personal brush fire action plan.
