ATTENTION NONPROFIT AGENCIES:
If you want the City of Phoenix to sponsor your application,
DO NOT
submit an application directly to the respective Tribe without obtaining confirmation/approval from the Office of Government Relations first.
Ak-Chin Indian Community
The Ak-Chin Indian Community makes grants to local government and non-profit agencies.
A non-profit or other organizations, including Special Taxing Districts/Fire Districts can be eligilble to apply if the non-profit can provide proof of tax exempt status and proof that an Arizona city, town, or county is willing to act as fiscal agent for the application.

Goverment Relations will seek approval from City Council at the June 26, 2024 Formal Meeting for all applications; city departments and nonprofits and the necessary report is due before June 7th. Once it is approved, the resolution will be emailed to each applicant, to be included
as part of the overall application
to Ak-Chin Indian Community.
Each nonprofit is responsible for submitting the completed application directly to Ak-Chin Indian Community by their set 2024 deadline, which is Friday, July 12, 2024.
Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation
The Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation makes grants to non-profit agencies through cities, towns and county sponsorship. The tribe requires the identification of a local government contact with the application.
Non-profits interested in City of Phoenix sponsorship for tribal gaming grants should be in touch with Government Relations staff no later than April 26, 2024 to receive more information (cover sheet for signature) if they wish to apply.
Deadline: Government Relations will be accepting completed applications for sponsorship until April 26, 2024.

Gila River Indian Community
The Gila River Indian Community (GRIC) makes grants to non-profit agencies through cities, towns and county sponsorship. GRIC requires the signature of the sponsoring city on the application. Non-profits wishing to be considered for City of Phoenix sponsorship should contact Government Relations immediately.
The City of Phoenix now requires an additional cover sheet with your agency's vendor number with the City of Phoenix be included in your application for sponsorhsip consideration, this is for our files only, it is NOT included in the application to the tribe.

For the 2024 calendar year, Government Relations will be accepting completed applications until
5 p.m., Friday, March 15, 2024.
Please submit the completed application via email to
grants@phoenix.go

in the subject line include your agency's name and "2024 GRIC Application."
Once submitted, the application will be reviewed by Government Relations staff. If questions arise, they will be addressed before the application is signed by City of Phoenix staff.
Each nonprofit/city department is responsible for submitting the signed, completed application to GRIC by their requested deadline of Monday, April 1, 2024.
Please note, City of Phoenix offices will be closed on Monday, April 1st in observance of the Cesar Chavez Holdiay (City Only Holiday).
Government Relations will seek council approval for a city ordinance sponsoring all the applications at the Formal meeting in May.
Please do not solicit letters of support from City of Phoenix elected officials for your application.
The City of Phoenix is not responsible for late submittals to GRIC.
Gila River Indian Community 2024 Application

Tohono O'odham Nation
The Tohono O'odham Nation makes grants to local governments and non-profit agencies.
Typically, the Tohono O'odham Nation grant cycle will begin on/around April/May with a due date around June, but it may change.
Deadline:
Completed applications are due to Government Relations by Friday, May 24, 2024.
Should your non-profit or city department decide to pursue this funding, submit the completed application to
grants@phoenix.gov
include your organization name along with 'Tohono O'odham 2024 grant application in the subject line.
While a letter from the government entity acknowledging its agreement to work with a nonprofit is not necessary for the initial proposal to the Tribe, as a courtesy, the City would like to be notified in advance of agency's request to list the City of Phoenix as the pass-through entity.
Please note that Government Relations will seek City Council approval for all city departments and non-profits it sponsors at the August 26, 2024 Formal City Council meeting. Once approved, the ordinance will be sent to the tribe before they begin to make award decisions.
For the 2024 funding cycle, completed applications must be emailed to the Tribe at 12grants@tonation-nsn.gov and must include the organization's name in the subject line with 'proposal'. For example 'City of Phoenix Proposal'.
Other Information
Agencies applying for tribal gaming grants must have their 501(c)3 status in place at the time of City submittal.
Non-profit projects/programs must either benefit Phoenix residents or in the City of Phoenix boundaries for sponsorship consideration.
