Mary Wright
Mary Wright is the Built Environment Specialist for the Office of Heat Response and Mitigation at the City of Phoenix, managing heat mitigation projects and policies involving the built environment, including engineered shade, cool roofs, and indoor heat exposure. In addition to project management, Wright supports data-driven decision-making for heat response and mitigation through robust data analysis and visualization. Wright also serves on the Steering Committee of the Arizona Heat Preparedness and Resilience Working Group, a regional network of heat practitioners where members can share best practices, recent news, and discuss challenges. In 2023, Wright earned a Ph.D. in Geography from Arizona State University, where her research centered on the impacts and drivers of heat on residents of Phoenix, Arizona.
