Effective Date Code "A"
This means the class specification has been through the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) revision process. An Essential Functions Questionnaire has been written and rated by incumbent supervisors of the class. An analysis of the tasks is reviewed every three years and the specifications should be revised based on the analysis to determine if the "A" designation continues.
Effective Date Code "N"
This means the class specification has been newly created due to the establishment of a new class or assignment. "Brand new" specifications or specifications that are created by combining two existing ADA "A" specifications should carry the "N" designation until Employment Services conducts a Task Analysis on the new class. At that time the specification should be revised and the specification code changed to the "A" designation.
Effective Date Code "X"
This means the class specification has been through the ADA revision process but no Essential Functions Questionnaire was written. The specification was revised to include ADA statements regarding knowledge, skills and abilities based on the knowledge of the class. When Employment Services conducts a Task Analysis on the new class, the specification should be revised and the specification code changed to the "A" designation.
