Focus Areas and Services
The City of Phoenix Prosecutor's Office also serves community members through specialized programs such as Veterans Court, Behavioral Health Court, and community diversion and skills programs to improve the quality of life of eligible defendants and reduce recidivism through education and rehabilitation as an alternative to jail. Approximately 1,600 defendants successfully complete programs annually for domestic violence, anger management, cognitive skills, alcohol possession diversion, shoplifting/theft diversion, prostitution and solicitation diversion. Home detention and diversion programs improve participant lives while saving taxpayers about $2.5 million per year in jail costs.
