​​​Neighborhood Parks Enhancement Program​

The City of Phoenix is thrilled to announce the Neighborhood Parks Enhancement Program, made possible by the recently approved General Obligation (GO) Bond Program​. With $1.5 million allocated for minor capital improvements, this initiative will ensure that each council district receives dedicated funds to enhance local parks.

From September 27 to November 8, 2024, eligible neighborhood organizations can submit project proposals to the Parks and Recreation Department. Projects must be located in City of Phoenix parks, and organizations not yet registered can do so online at https://www.phoenix.gov/nsd/programs/neighborhood-coordination.

Selected projects will be announced in early 2025, with completion scheduled within the GO Bond Program timeframe from 2024 to 2029. Let's work together to enhance our community spaces!​

​Project Eligibility

•​​​​​ Projects must be at a City of Phoenix Park. Projects must be capital improvements which demonstrate public investments in infrastructure, and/ or a renovation​ of assets and must not contribute to additional ongoing maintenance and operational costs to the Department.​

•​​​​​ Eligible applicants must be neighborhood organizations listed with the Neighborhood Services Department. If neighborhood groups are not registered, you may register with Neighborhood Services Department at www.phoenix.gov/nsd/programs/neighborhood-coordination​. If you need assistance with regi​​stration Parks and Recreation staff is available to assist.​

•​​​​​ Projects cannot be combined with any other Parks and Recreation Department source of funding.

•​​​​​ All projects will be completed by City approved contractors and must meet City standards. The Parks and Recreation Department will establish a timeline for the completion of each project.​

•​​​​​ Projects must meet existing infrastructure requirements to be considered and funded. Examples include water lines and electricity.​

•​​​​​ All projects must be eligible for completion within the General Obligation Bond Program between 2024 and 2029.


​Project Process

•​​​​​ Applicants must submit an application online through a portal available on the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department website beginning September 27, 2024. Applications will close on November 8, 2024.

•​​​​​ Applicants may only include one project per application.

•​​​​​ Selected projects will be announced in early 2025.

•​​​​​ Approved projects will be completed within the General Obligation Bond Program timeframe between 2024 and 2029 as determined by the Parks and Recreation Department. ​
