Arizona's Bioscience Sector Sees Record-High Venture Capital, Research Funding

Arizona's bioscience sector is performing at its highest level since data tracking began nearly two decades ago, according to Flinn Foundation's latest report.

In 2019, Arizona's bioscience firms received nearly $200 million in venture capital funding, according to the April 15 report conducted by TEConomy Partners LLC.

At the same time, universities, research institutes and bioscience firms received a total of $263 million in funding from the National Institutes of Health.

Between 2016 and 2018, university research and development increased 25% to exceed $600 million.
