January 11, 2018 12:00 AM
Phoenix Business Journal (Brandon Brown): he Arizona Office of Tourism released a mobile app Wednesday that uses artificial intelligence to enhance traveler’s experiences while visiting the state.

The app, which was developed by Phoenix-based developer LighthousePE, is in both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

Michael Stevens, LighthousePE Chief Technology and Innovation Officer, said the app tries to deliver deeply personal experiences to users. He claims his technology can create authentic, intimate experiences with people and it recommends things to do to users that are customized to them.

When users first open the app they are asked to provide some information about themselves, including what they are interested in and what they’d like to do on vacation. And then it starts making recommendations based on where the user is located in the state.
