On Saturday, June 16 over 5,000 customers visited Burton Barr Central Library to check out materials, tour the building and enjoy special programs to celebrate the reopening. Customers were welcomed back by several Councilmembers, the City Librarian and lines staff as they entered the building at 9:00 a.m.

We invite you to join us this Thursday, June 21 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. for the annual Summer Solstice Celebration. Herald the first day of summer and the longest day of the year while marveling at the architectural magic of Burton Barr Central Library with architect, Will Bruder. Enjoy the music of E Alo, watch from the unique vantage point of the Great Reading Room as man-made engineering collaborates with the sun, to reveal the moment of solstice.
