​Mason Saxelby experienced life as a police officer.
The Boulder Creek Elementary School student spent the day checking out the Phoenix Police Department's Air Support Unit and meeting one of the Department's finest K-9s.
It all started when Mason entered a raffle for a Cop For a Day prize at his school carnival.
But the third grader was too young for the full experience so School Resource Officer Brian Ross stepped up to make sure Mason still got a chance to see what it's like to be a Police Officer.
Mason spend a Friday afternoon with Pilot Paul Apolinar from the Air Support Unit as well as “Riso," his handler James Smoke and fellow K-9 Officer Ron Dorfman.
Mason's Mom thanked Officer Ross for going “waaaaay above and beyond to make sure Mason had an experience to remember."
Rachel Saxelby joined the visit, posting her appreciation on social media, “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all you do every day to make positive impacts on the people of the communities you swore to serve and protect."
