For a number of years, the Phoenix Police Department has honored its fallen officers with the Phoenix Police Memorial Ceremony.
During the ceremony, the names of those killed in the line of duty are read.
Previously, the ceremony began in the atrium of city hall, and ended at the City of Phoenix Employees Memorial where the names of each of our fallen officers are engraved on the wall.
But this year, because of COVID-19, we adhered to social distancing and produced a video to ensure the tradition continues of honoring those that made the ultimate sacrifice.
One-by-one, the readers for this year's ceremony filtered into the Public Affairs Bureau studio to read the name, serial number, and end of watch of each officers.
A small ceremony followed where Police Chief Jeri Williams placed a wreath on the City of Phoenix Employee Memorial.
With this video, we remember and thank these officers for paying the ultimate price.
