Don’t drop the ball! Valley Metro and the city of Phoenix are making it easy to travel to your favorite NCAA Men’s Final Four® events April 5-8 by providing free rides through the Valley Metro app.
“We’re excited to bring fans the full Phoenix experience with our investment in the sponsored rides program on our light rail system,” said Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego. “Now, it’ll be even easier for visitors and Phoenicians alike to reach all the Final Four activities and entertainment in downtown Phoenix.”
To take advantage of the sponsored rides program supported by the city of Phoenix, fans are encouraged to follow these simple steps:
1. Download the
Valley Metro app and create an account. The app and account are required to access the complimentary pass.
3. Complete the transaction for your complimentary Final Four transit pass.
4.Scan the QR code at the purple fare readers before each ride. This pass is valid April 5-8 for up to four people.
“We provided more than 250,000 safe rides on light rail during Super Bowl LVII in 2023 and we are looking forward to doing it again for the weekend of NCAA Men’s Final Four® events,” said Phoenix Councilwoman and Valley Metro Rail Board Chair Laura Pastor. “Whether you are a resident or visitor to the Valley for the first time, let public transit be your fast break through traffic to connect you, your family and friends to all the action.”

13 free park-and-rides in Phoenix, Tempe and Mesa. Use the
Valley Metro app to plan your travel in advance. Riders can plan a trip, locate trains in real-time and check rider alerts. Learn more about how Valley Metro is welcoming basketball fans at

About the Phoenix Local Organizing Committee: The Phoenix Local Organizing Committee (PLOC) is a non-profit organization that is hosting the 2024 NCAA Men’s Final Four. The committee is comprised of Arizona business, Native American, tourism and sports leaders and will collaborate with the NCAA to support the Men’s Final Four’s myriad ancillary events and to establish legacy projects that will ensure the lasting impact of the Men’s Final Four in Arizona.
