On Nov. 13, the Street Transportation Department launched an engaging full color pedestrian safety activity book aimed at youth from grades three through six. The book shares lessons on how to stay safe through colorful illustrations and a variety of puzzles and word games. The book was funded in part by a grant from the Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
The book was launched at a safety assembly at Lowell Elementary School, a K-8 school where many of the students walk to school. Mayor Kate Gallego and Councilman Michael Nowakowski joined the students in an activity focusing on pedestrian safety.
