The City of Phoenix Neighborhood Services (NSD), Human Services (HSD) and Housing departments receive federal funding, through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), to support programs that revitalize neighborhoods, provide homeless assistance, social services and affordable housing to low- and moderate-income Phoenix residents.
The city receives Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG), HOME Investment Partnership (HOME), and the Housing Opportunities For Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) funding to provide these programs to the community.
