​​​Environmental Site Assessment Records​​​​

The City of Phoenix has developed this listing to assist environmental professionals who are conducting a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment in order to comply with the All Appropriate Inquiries (AAI) Final Rule at 40 CFR Part 312. One of the requirements of the AAI is to conduct reviews of federal, tribal, state and local government records. Below is a listing of records that can be obtained through the City of Phoenix, as well as links to various local and state agencies with information for sites located within the City of Phoenix.


 

City of Phoenix Records

Plannin​​g and Development Services, 602-262-7800

The Planning and Development Services Department maintains records of Building Permits, Building Inspections and Certificates of Occupancy. 

  • Permits from 1995 to current are available through an online se​​archable database

  • Historical permits prior to 1995 may be requested by submitting a Publi​c Recor​ds Request.    

  • Permits for all years can also be obtained by visiting the counter on the 3rd Floor of Phoenix City Hall. Fees may apply.

Fire Depar​tment Records, 602-261-8025

The Fire Prevention Division of the Phoenix Fire Department maintains the records of Fire and Permit Inspections, including Hazardous Materials permits, and Above and Underground Tanks installations and removals. These records can be requested by submitting a Fire Preventio​​​n Records Request Form.  Please be aware fees may be charged for research.

Water Services​​ Department, 602-495-5601

The Infrastructure Record Services Public Counter – Water/Sewer Services and Records Division of the Water Services Department maintains GIS records of the dates that sewer and water lines were installed as well as tap connection information for properties that have been connected to the City of Phoenix system. These records can be requested by calling the number above or visiting the counter on the 8th Floor of Phoenix City Hall. Maps of infrastructure can only be provided in-person at the counter, and fees may apply.
