    Summer Update

    During the summer months, June to August the City of Phoenix, sets aside time for turf recovery, improvements, and maintenance to athletic fields. Fields that remain open for reservations are limited.  To see what fields are open for reservation please click here.  

    Reservation Guidelines

    • Athletic fields are sport specific.  If a sport relies on an infield for play (softball, baseball, cricket, and kickball) they must be played on ballfields (baseball/softball).  Open space sports (soccer, football, rugby, lacrosse, ultimate frisbee, etc.) must be played on turf fields (soccer/multi-use).
    • Sports fields that are designated for sports play and are not reservable for parties or other special events.
    • Reservations may be made online, or in-person at most Phoenix Parks and Recreation Community Centers and Administrative Offices.​
    • A maximum of four hours of total field time may be on reserve at any one time. Reservation blocks are 2 hours and made on the even hours.  Most lighted athletic fields are available to book from 4​ p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday thru Friday and on weekends from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.  Athletic fields without lights are available from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. only.
    • Reservations must be made a minimum of three days in advance, and a maximum of 30 days in advance of use.​
    • Youth rates apply only when all team members are 17 years old or younger.
    • A reservation guarantees exclusive use of the field.
    • Services and equipment, such as setting bases or soccer goal nets, are not provided.
    • Sports organizations with 4 or more teams are eligible to apply for seasonal field allocations.
    • Cancellation Policy: In order to receive a refund, cancelation of a reservation is required three days prior to the reservation date.

    Athletic Field Fees

    Adult Reservations

    • ​Resident: $17 Per Hr
    • Non-Resident: $25 Per Hr

    Youth Reservations

    • Resident: $6 Per Hr
    • Non-Resident: $10 Per Hr

    ​Light Fees

    • A $5 hourly fee for lights will be charged for night time activities (6 p.m. to 10 p.m.)

    Determining Residency:

    The address of the individual who makes the reservation is used to determine residency.  A non-resident is an individual who does not reside within a City of Phoenix council district.​​​​

    Sports Organizations with 4 or More Teams

    Organizations with 4 or​ more teams are eligible to apply for seasonal field allocations.

    Allocation eligible organization are subject to additional insurance and residency requirements.​
