November 2015 – Seven community meetings were held to get input from business and community leaders, neighborhood groups and other key stakeholders on what they think are important traits for the new Phoenix Police Chief. In addition, a community survey was conducted to gather input from the community on the skills and attributes most desired in the next leader of the Phoenix Police Department. Read News Release

June 2016 - Finalist interviews
June 6, 2016: Finalists Forum. More than 300 people attended the moderated forum. The three finalists discussed police body cameras, diversity in hiring, building bridges within the community and leadership among other topics. The city received 170 questions from residents via email, voicemail and on handwritten cards at the forum.
