Release 1 of SHAPE PHX – Phoenix's new permitting system is now LIVE for residential single-family projects!
Customers submitting single-family residential applications, applying for PDD licenses or registrations should now create a new user account at ShapePHX.Phoenix.gov. Customers that have projects in both Release 1 and future releases will work out of both the old system (PDD Online and ProjectDox) and the SHAPE PHX portal. For a complete list of Release 1 items or for more information about the new system, please visit Planning and Development SHAPE PHX.
The primary objective of the Inspections Division is to assure all buildings are safe to occupy. The inspection team has over 100 experienced inspectors and technical staff responsible for ensuring that all construction meets code and approved regulations: City Code, Zoning Ordinance, Building Construction, Electrical, Plumbing, Mechanical, Signs, Energy Conservation, and Green codes.
Permits
Work must commence within six months of permit issuance and continue throughout the timeframe of the permit for a permit to remain valid, otherwise the permit will expire.
Inspections take place several times during various phases of construction for conformance with approved plans.
Regular inspections must be requested at each state of construction prior to concealment or cover.
When all final inspections have passed, a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) or Certificate of Completion (C of C) will be issued.
