Release 1 of SHAPE PHX – Phoenix's new permitting system is now LIVE for residential single-family projects!
Customers submitting single-family residential applications, applying for PDD licenses or registrations should now create a new user account at ShapePHX.Phoenix.gov. Customers that have projects in both Release 1 and future releases will work out of both the old system (PDD Online and ProjectDox) and the SHAPE PHX portal. For a complete list of Release 1 items or for more information about the new system, please visit Planning and Development SHAPE PHX (phoenix.gov).
Residential development includes single-family homes, duplex, and townhome projects. Construction permits are needed for new homes and when existing homes are remodeled or additions are made. For instance, a permit is needed for a garage/carport construction or conversion, porch enclosure, demolition, patio cover, fence/wall, and other construction projects. For a detailed listing of the types of construction that require a permit, see the Residential Single Family Construction Permit Guide (PDF).
