Overview of Proposed Options
Option A
Current 3rd Avenue Street Design: Two driving lanes in each direction, bike lanes south of the Grand Canal with some gaps, and a parking lane in some places. Parking is restricted in one area from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m., and all day on weekends.
Option B
Proposed 3rd Avenue
Street Design: One driving lane in each direction with bike lanes and on-street
parking in some places. Parking will not be allowed in the bike lane. There
will be no time-of-day parking restrictions.
Option C
Proposed 3rd Avenue
Street Design: One driving lane in each direction with bike lanes and buffered
bike lanes in places. Parking will not be allowed in the bike lane. There will
be no time-of-day parking restrictions.
Parking Implications for all Options
All three options differ in when parking would be allowed, and in which sections on-street parking could occur.
