Description
More than 1,100 acres of land bounded by 51st Avenue to I-17 and Loop 303 to State Route 74 is being readied for technology companies. To facilitate construction and operations in the region, new public infrastructure is needed.
This project includes the design and construction of approximately three miles of arterial streets including asphalt, curb, gutter, sidewalk, drainage facilities, street lights and landscaping to support access to the area. The project team met with the Arizona State Land Department to get approval of the draft roadway centerlines developed by Kimley Horn and Associates. Approval will be needed from the Arizona Department of Transportation on the 51st Avenue and Loop 303 centerline alignment and a tie in to a traffic interchange.
Note: This project was advertised to contractors as the Northwest Valley Transportation Improvements Project. To avoid any confusion about the location of the project, the Street Transportation Department will refer to the project as North Phoenix Infrastructure in public-facing materials.
