We are excited to work with the members of the Junior League and are grateful to them for bringing their vast experience, enthusiasm, and community volunteerism to Food Day.

Kids Cook Plants with local Phoenix Cookbook Author, Melanie Albert of Experience Nutrition!
Melanie Albert, plant-based cooking expert, award-winning
cookbook author, and speaker is Founder and CEO of Experience Nutrition.
Melanie has been a leader in wellness, integrative nutrition, and culinary for
over 15 years. Melanie is regularly featured on the national
lifestyle tv show, “The List” and in “Natural Awakenings Arizona.” She
is a 2007 graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and former
marketing consultant to Weil Lifestyle, LLC / Andrew Weil, MD. Melanie has led
hundreds of cooking classes and events to thousands of people from former NFL
players, to kids, to our community.
Melanie received 610 hours of plant-based culinary training and is known
around the Valley for her fun, interactive, inspiring cooking classes, team
building events, and retreats.
Cooking Demo with Chef Michael Willison, Executive Sous Chef at Canyon 49 Grill. His passion for food and the culinary arts began at the age of 7 when he began cooking with his grandmother and learning family recipes. At the age of 13 he helped cook at a friend's family-owned restaurant and knew he wanted to learn and grow more in the food industry. Michael earnd a degree in culinary arts from The Art Institute of Phoenix and was immediately hired at the Four Seasons Resort and Hotel, where he worked for over 13 years. He also went back to school to earn a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Phoenix to imprvoe every aspect of his career. He learns and grows every day while teaching his fellow cooks how to follow their dreams. He is a tremendous leader and cooks from the heart.
Chef Robert Stempkowski, Civitan Foundation Arizona will be demonstrating his culinary skills in a Cooking Demo. He serves as Culinary Director for Civitan. As a chef, former restaurateur and food writer, his career in professional food service hospitality spans more than three decades. He believes in a body and soul approach to nourishment and nutrition.
