The voter-approved Transportation 2050 initiative has significantly boosted the city’s street improvement and maintenance budget. As a result, the number of street miles included in this year’s street pavement preservation program was quadrupled and has kept crews extra busy paving and improving more streets than ever.

"A modern city must have modern streets," said Mayor Greg Stanton. "When we maintain and improve our streets and other transportation infrastructure it enhances our ability to grow our economy, and at the same time it makes Phoenix even more accessible for those with disabilities."
"Through Transportation 2050 we quadrupled the number of miles that received pavement treatments this year," said Mayor Greg Stanton. “Good weather, additional funding and a lot of hard work by our staff, contractors and entire team has allowed us to pave more street miles than ever.”
