Wastewater treatment plant DEDICATION TO EXCELLENCE

Our unwavering commitment is driven by our mission: to provide high-quality, reliable, and cost-effective water services that meet public needs and maintains support.

In Phoenix, water is more than a resource; it's a lifeline. To stand the test of time during times of drought, we must manage our diverse water supplies that includes Salt, Verde, and Colorado River water, groundwater reserves, and reclaimed wastewater for nonpotable purposes.

Tres Rios WetlandsINNOVATION & PRESERVATION

We have strategically invested in infrastructure and technologies to preserve our water supply. We are a leader in the nation when it comes to water reuse, recycling 97% of the City's treated wastewater through innovative partnerships that support agriculture, energy production, and environmental restoration.

One of those projects is the Tres Rios Wetlands. Highly treated wastewater from a nearby wastewater treatment plant flows through the habitat which is home to native plants and more than 200 bird species. The wetlands benefit the community in many other ways, including flood control and recreational opportunities.

For over 100 years, the City of Phoenix has been preserving, conserving, and delivering water. The future of our water starts with our past.

Since the installation of the very first pipe in the ground in 1902, the Phoenix Water Department has tirelessly constructed, managed, and maintained our intricate infrastructure system.
